Dr. Johnel Barcus was appointed by Governor Brian Schweitzer to the Montana Commission on Community Service, last July. "One
of the best ways we can all help move Montana forward, help the last and the least, or improve our own communities is to
volunteer or work for services that help those who need it," Schweitzer said. "This group of people is committed to service
and to improving the lives of Montana families." Dr. Barcus is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe, holds a
Doctorate in Education from MSU, and is Executive Director of the Browning Community Development Corporation.
"Glacier County Commissioner Michael DesRosier and Montana State Representative Carol Juneau assisted me in the process,
as well as writing a letter of recommendation," Barcus said. "It was their help and information that put me in the running."
